Real Weddings by Elevage Events – Stephanie and John

Hello Chicago Brides!  Fall….well maybe winter….has certainly arrived in Chicago and as we close the book on 2012 and look ahead to 2013 – we wanted to reflect and highlight one of our favorite classic Chicago Fall Weddings done by Elevage Events.

Stephanie Bannos and John Eisel were married in October of last year (2011) at the iconic Hotel Intercontinental Chicago (which we have blogged about before).  The hotel is a fantastic choice for any time of year – but during cooler months, couples are really able to take advantage of the cozy, dark-wood room options – like the Renaissance Room as Stephanie and John selected.

Floral for the event was done by Richard Remiard and turned out beautifully.

The Intercontinental is also wonderful for it’s spacious prep areas….helping both Bride, Groom and family pup look beautiful!

Thank you, Stephanie and John and happy 1 year anniversary!

Real Weddings by Elevage Events: Ambar and Mike

Elevage Events had SO much fun helping to plan the April 14, 2012 wedding of Ambar Mentor and Mike Truppa.  Ambar and Mike are not only a tremendously beautiful couple (as you can see from the photos) – but also just wonderfully nice people with awesome families.  It was a true joy to be part of their special day.

The magical day began with preparations at The Wit downtown.

Followed by an intimate ceremony at St.Benedict.

And finally, a spectacular party at Architectural Artifacts to close the night.

With LOTS of dancing and late night pizza…

Best Wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Truppa from Elevage Events.  We look forward to staying in touch.

Also, a huge thank you to Olivia at Olivia Leigh Weddings Photographie for photo credit.  The images are beautiful!

Wedding Vendors: Makeup/Hair – Sonia Roselli Chicago

Let’s be honest….who hasn’t daydreamed about living life as an uber famous movie star or high-end fashion model??  Having a professional team of hair and makeup experts doting on you while you sip champagne, eat snacks and socialize with your ‘peeps’?  Sounds pretty great, right??  The ladies of Elevage Events agree and were beyond excited to step into the wonderful world that is  Sonia Roselli Esthetique for an afternoon of transformation last Sunday.

Sonia and her team are the utmost professionals and just have a ‘way’ of knowing how to make people look as amazing as humanly possible (and it’s not just the Elevage Events team that thinks so – Sonia has been featured in Chicago Magazine’s Best Of List and also in InStyle and Allure Magazines)

As a previous Sonia bride myself, I can attest to the even more superstar treatment provided on your wedding day – beyond leaving you in much better condition than she found you, Sonia is just a great person to have around in your home or hotel suite as you prepare for the big day!  After a half hour or so in her chair, complete with phrases like, “you’re going to knock ’em dead kitten”,  you look in the mirror thinking, I’m going to look hot and this day is going to be awesome!!

Additionally, as an added perk – Sonia is an amateur wiz behind the camera as well.  She shot the new headshots we will be featuring on the Elevage Events website later this month and we feel they won’t disappoint.

If you are interested in booking Sonia’s team for your wedding – email or call them NOW.  They book up quickly and you will not regret the decision.

After  you’ve been beautified by Sonia’s magic wand, send us some photos and we’ll feature them on the Elevage Events Blog!

We love you, Sonia!!

Real Weddings by Elevage Events: Michele and Trent – Part 2 (Leap Weddings)

Well it’s here and it was certainly worth the wait!  Part two of happy footage from our Elevage Events wedding for Michele & Trent Jurewicz.  The fun and completely beautiful video was done by an Elevage Events favorite – Leap Weddings.  Ben Mahoney and his team did an amazing job capturing Michele and Trent’s special day and bringing every detail back to life so they can re-live it forever!

Congratulations again Michele & Trent and well done Leap Weddings!

Pinterest and the Modern Bride

Let’s be honest, we’ve all done it…spent just a few too many minutes, errr hours, of ‘company’ time wedding planning and wedding daydreaming.  Well, brides and dreamers rejoice – there is a new inspiration source in town!  Pinterest.

Pinterest is the first social networking tool of its kind wherein you can organize AND share online images you find interesting.  The images uploaded on Pinterest become known as Pins, which the user then organizes on customized, themed, boards.

Basically, it’s a virtual pinboard.  Allowing you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find in your life.

What’s not to love for wedding planning?!  Log-in, search wedding ideas and let the games begin!

Also, note – it goes well beyond just weddings.  Looking for visuals of your honeymoon spot or dream home with your hubby? Look no further!

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.  AND there are a lot of people out there – Pinterest has seen it’s popularity explode from 1.2 million users in August to over 4 million to date!

So, what are you waiting for?  Get pinning! And look out for the Elevage Events board coming soon!

Locks of Love: Wedding Hair

It’s cold and Holiday shopping should be complete.  Let’s talk about something fun….HAIR!!  We all know “good” wedding hair can make or break a look.  So, let’s get to work!

Have great hair and want to show it off?? Wear it down and wavy – you will not be disappointed.

I mean….who wouldn’t want to look like this on their wedding day!?!  HOT!

OR down with a twist?

And last – but not least – you can pull it back and add some flair…

You really can’t go wrong.

Just make sure you have a hair trial with your stylist before the big day! The last thing you want is extra, unnecessary, hair stress.

Have a wedding style you love?!  SEND it in and we’ll post it on the blog :)

Marriage Photos and Mistletoe

Good morning, Chicago Brides.  Only a few working weeks left until the Holidays.  What remains on your Holiday to-do list?  Design and mail Holiday cards, perhaps?  Look no further than your wedding album…

What’s not to love!?  Your guests will enjoy seeing images of your lovely day again and it’s the perfect way to close out your wedding year.

Pick one of your favorite shots or select a few…

So, there you have it.  No more excuses for not having your cards done.  Good luck!

Time for Bride: Holiday Gift Guide

Good morning Chicago Brides, Happy Holidays!

That’s right, the Holidays are here and they are coming fast and furious.  Have you been too busy with place-cards and seating to think about your Holiday shopping?? Let’s take a minute today to discuss the bride-to-be’s Holiday wish list!

1) Gloves fit for a queen – In addition to world peace and a sunny wedding day, what bride doesn’t want beautiful, soft, well-manicured hands on her big day?  Dry and frostbit…need not apply.  AND with all the texting and multitasking you’ll be doing, these ‘tech gloves’ are perfect!!

Swing on over to Bloomingdales and get you some!  OR go fingerless at J.Crew.

2) Cell-ie Love – Use your brand new gloves to type out some important wedding day emails on your smartphone AND look good doing so…

3) Don’t forget about your toes – Keep your perfect pedicure dry and warm with the fun options available from Hunter boots.

And the color choices? How can you not find the perfect pre-wedding shade??

4) A little R & R – Finally, recharge your batteries and take advantage of one of the many gorgeous hotel spas Chicago has to offer.

Happy giving and receiving, from Elevage Events!

Bridal Fashion: Oh So Sassy in a Sash-y!

To sash or not to sash…that is the question.

If you’re interested in a little extra bling and the dress can handle it – I say, Sash!

And if not for the ceremony…then for the reception!

OR you could do a sash for you and a sash for the girls…

And while we’re sashing, what is cuter than this?!

Finally, looky here!  A sash with two lives.  Re-purposed for another day or later in the wedding weekend…brunch anyone?

So there you have it. Lots-o-sashes, Lots-o-ways!  Planning or have worn a bridal sash? Show us your sashes!
